Day 324 - Colour Splash

Had fun trying to make this look like I had shot with the colour splash function on some cameras. This rose is from one of the gardens in DC on the Mall.

Day 218 - Docked

Looking for a picture of the American flag, I realized I have not processed many of my pictures from my trip to the US.  I really liked the colours in this one... and I guess I must have been tired when I edited, because, I just noticed that the horizon is off on this one.

Day 217 - Old Glory

Since I was talking flags yesterday, I wanted to post another one of the US flag.  Actually, it started out with me looking for a Canadian flag to post, but I couldn't find one, I settled on finding another one of Old Glory. One of the nicer shots of the American flag, I captured. I realize that part of the flag is wrapped around the pole, but I still like it, especially against the blue sky.

Goal for flag day, take a nice shot of the Maple Leaf.... and that will be just in time for the Winter Games this year!

Day 156 - Any idea...?

I was looking at my pictures from Baltimore and DC, and this was among them.  Can't for the life of me figure out what it is, but thought it looked really interesting.

Any ideas what it might be?

Day 145 - Under construction

I had to take this picture, since it was funny to me.  This was the US Supreme Court when I visited in September.  It was under renovation, and the tourists didn't seem to notice!  People were still taking pictures with the building, etc.  How could they not notice the scaffolding?

Day 144 - Interesting book stores

It appears I've run out of pictures from Morocco since I have not had the time to edit photos from my bro's DSLR, which I borrowed. So, here is another one from my trip to Baltimore.  This was inside a Barnes & Noble on Inner Habour.

Day 107 - Microscope

Another picture that I'm not sure why I like, but I do.  I took a bunch of random pictures of different artefacts at a library at Johns Hopkins University.  I think there is something about the reflecting light on the showcase.

Day 106 - Flags everywhere

Growing up, I used to hear people say that Canada is not a nation of flag wavers, and I really didn't understand what that mean.  Going to the States for the first time, it was so fascinating to see the number of American flags I saw everywhere - businesses, residences, and government buildings!

This was at Johns Hopkins University, again, a shot that I didn't take time to set up, and took as I was passing.  I wish I could have taken it straight on, to frame the flag better.

Day 105 - Columns everywhere

On a brief trip to Baltimore and Washington DC, one of the things I noticed about the architecture of the cities is that they love columns!  I took this photo very quickly and actually love it, though I'm not sure why.

Day 99 - Capitol Picture

I took a lot of photos of Capitol Hill, and the one I loved the best was this one... just adore the colours in it!
